You will find a variety of items in our newly renovated souvenir shop. From keychains, to hand made bags, to natural oils prepared using mid-evil recipes, there is something for everyone. The Tavush Diocese takes great pride in recreating an ancient experience. For example, when you buy and use one of our health elixirs, you are tasting the flavors of over 20 herbs and flowers from a recipe that was found in Armenia and dates back hundreds of years.
Along with the tea, lotions, oils etc., the Diocese also specializes in producing preserves and honey. What makes them so special? It is apart of a unique social enterprise, run by the Diocese of Tavush, which started just last year. Most of our berries and fruit come from the families residing in border-guarding villages. Because of there location, these villages often deal with a lack of security in their daily lives and income. Not only does this project create jobs and showcase the natural splendors of the Marz, but by selling our honey and preserves we create a more sustainable funding source for the Church’s social and educational projects that are found throughout Tavush. 100% of the profits from these goods go back to the families and children within Tavush Marz.
By buying our products, you are supporting the…
- 44 Sunday schools with 2,010 students in borderline and border-guarding communities in Tavush Region
